Five Areas That Lack Self Discipline
1. Time Management
I spend way too much time wasted. I tend to dilly-daddle. Or I do the fun stuff first rather than doing the dull stuff (usually my math homework)
2. Eating Habits
Back home I was a very healthy eater. I rarely ate packaged food and I mainly dined organic locally grown food.
3. Keeping My Drawers Neat
I HATE HATE HATE folding clothes so obviously my drawers are a bit messy.
4. Cleaning The Bathroom
Ew I know but my suite mates, roommate, and I all don't want to and we all forget to do it.
5. Bedtime
I am already a bit of a night owl, but since I have been at college I find myself up late working on homework that is not due for a week or fiddling around.
1. To improve my time management I could start bringing my smaller tasks (like thank you notes, reading, or flashcards) around with me to all my classes. Also I notice if I plan out my day literally by the hour I am way more efficient and I get more work done. I also am able to get a few hours of free time in if I plan my day very specifically.
2. It is hard to go back to my regular eating habits because for breakfast I usually stick to a packaged cereal or English muffin. But I have started eating more fruit with my breakfast and bring back one of my favorite breakfast foods...Greek yogurt. Also I take more time when I go to the cafe to pick out what I eat. I am sort of one of those "hippy-dippy" people who really like to be aware of what foods they eat. But it is of course harder in college to eat right.
3. Well I hate folding. I really have to force myself to do it. I need to by hard on myself about doing that petty little task. Maybe if I did while talking to people it would make it more fun. Who knows really this is a hard one for me to get some self discipline.
4. OK who really wants to clean the bathroom? I think if we made a chart with tasks on it the bathroom would get cleaned. Although I never talk to my suite mates, we could maybe have a little pow-wow about cleaning the bathroom and dividing the tasks. The only way I could really discipline myself to clean the bathroom is if I knew others were cleaning it as well.
5. This one is a hard one. First I am a night person. I get a lot of work done late at night, but what kills me is when I go off into the lounge area on my floor and socialize for a good hour or more with the girls on my hall. We will all be really goofy and make up raps or do other silly things and I am not out there I feel like I am missing out. I really need to discipline myself to stay in my room and get my work done.
My best friend Caylin has the most amazing self discipline. She is EXTREMELY (borderline OCD) organized. It makes me jealous how insanely good she is at being organized. She ha very strong self discipline. For instance I called her on a football game day at her school and she was definitely staying in her room to work on the four papers she had due that week. I was impressed she could force herself to stay in like that and get work done.
I am accountable for holding up my personal standards for myself. I am accountable for pleasing myself. That means trying my best at everything, working hard, being nice to people, having a positive outlook, and upholding my moral values.
I am first accountable to myself, then my parents. I really want to make my parents proud in all I do. I really want them to know how hard I work and see how much I want to make them proud. I also sometimes feel accountable to my little sisters. I really want them to be pleased with me. I want my little sisters to be proud of my and not ashamed of their older sister. I want to be able to set a strong example of what they could do to if they worked really hard and put their mind to it.

I am at my best when I am happy and motivated .
I will try to prevent times when I am discouraged, stressed, and messy.
I will enjoy my work by finding employment where I get to meet new people.
I will find enjoyment in my personal life through travel and live life to the fullest.
I will find opportunities to use my natural talents and gifts such as positivity, talking, being friendly, meeting new people, doodling, laughing.
I can do anything I set my mind to. I will travel around the world seeing every beauty nature has and experiencing all cultures .
My life's journey is living for God because I love him so much and I know I will one day see Him in heaven.
I will be a person who caylin, and i want her to say that I made her laugh and that I made her day that I was a good friend and that we went on many adventures together.
My most important future contribution to others will be my positivity and my energy to try and brighten everyones day.
I will stop procrastinating and start working on:
I will strive to incorporate the following attributes into my life:
I will constantly renew myself by focusing on the four dimensions of my life:

- the way i treat the earth
- how i let people walk all over me
- go run
I will strive to incorporate the following attributes into my life:
- Faith
- happiness and a love for yourself
- hardworking, determined, focused
I will constantly renew myself by focusing on the four dimensions of my life:
- eat healthy, take vitamins, exercise, get fresh air, drink water, deep breathing, going for walks, avoiding dairy and salt and red meat
- reading the Bible, spending quite time with the Lord, praying to God, Listening to God's plan
- taking time to journal and sort out emotional issues, read books that expand thinking, challenge yourself once a day
- take time out to laugh and to enjoy other peoples strengths and praise their flaws.
I think this somewhat of a long mission but it does sum up most of my beliefs. I like the idea that I could live my life adventurously and with excitement. I think if I put my mission statement in fewer words it would tell me to focus on happiness and spreading happiness to others!

OU Mission
Never forget: The mission of the University of Oklahoma is to provide the best possible educational experience for our students through excellence in teaching, research and creative activity, and service to the state and society.
I think that I live the OU mission statement to an extent. I am not teaching or conducting research, but I participate in what is being taught and am involved in teaching process. I am involed with creative activity and learning. I volunteer with my soriety and with this class. Also most of my classes require some creativity. My writing class occasionally requires me to think of my own prompt based on the readings. Also this class, Leading the Way, requires a lot of creativity. From writing the blogs to when we first did our life maps. OU gives the opportunities for students to live the mission statement, it is up to the student to take advantage of what is given to them. It is of course a bit daunting when first looking at all the ways the university tries to live the mission statement in the community and at first I was not sure what was going on. Now I like to think that I live the OU mission statement because I try to seek each opportunity and use every resource the university extends to me.
OU lives the mission statement. They genuinely give each student the chance to life the statement. OU can only provide students with the statement. The university provides quality professors, various campus activities and service groups. OU lives the mission statement by giving each student an equal opportunity to take advantage of ever resource the university processes.
The OU lives the mission statement by provide all the necessary resources, yet sometimes students do not even know they are there. For me I came to OU with very little knowledge about the university, and the only reason I came with some information was because I attended Camp Crimson. So as you can imagine when I first got on campus and began hearing about CAC, Dance Marathon, Homecoming Exec, U-Sing, and other involvement opportunities I was completely lost. I wish I would have come in to OU knowing some of the knowledge the university has provided me with from this class. Such as it is acceptable to apply with a blank resume or even simply that freshman can apply. I think that if OU did a better job of letting students know a bit more about all the university offers before school begins then perhaps students like me would not be so apprehensive at the beginning to try and live out the statement.

Board of Advisers
First on my board would be my big in my sorority, Cassi. She is who I turn to when I need guidance. She is also really being a spiritual guide for me. She will pray with me and just put things in perspective for me when I need it. She is also a "pick me up". Cassi is really silly and goofy and always knows how to make me laugh and put a smile on my face
Also on my board would be the one and only Julie S. Bock. Julie is my little advice columnist. I can text her at anytime and she will reply back. I ask her everything from....what I should wear to even some guy advice. Julie also is always up for some healthy food at the caf. I love having Julie on my board because she tells me the truth. She doesn't beat around the bush. Julie is who I go to when I need a slap in the face, metaphorically.
My dad would be another board member. He is so genuine and He gives me the advice I need to hear. I turn to my dad when I struggle with being a leader. My dad lead a football team at the college level and now he leads trials. He understands the various sides of being a leader. I know when I came to OU I had no idea how to get involved and my dad gave the perfect advice; he told me that I need to take my time and that I will find my niche.
My best friend Caylin from high school is also there for me. She's wonderful for a laugh. Caylin is goo for giving me a push. I second guess myself a lot and I don't want to try something because I am afraid of failing. Caylin is really helps me branch out more. Even though we don't go to the same school I can always call her and get a chat.
Last would be my younger sister Abigail. She is amazing. Abigail is always there for a laugh. And when I give her advice it often helps me sort things out in my own life. She is good at telling me what I need here. She also keeps me grounded and gives me updates on life at home. She is a little bit of sunshine when I need it.
The head of my board would be my dad. He is my best friend and he helps direct me the most. My dad cheers me up when I need it and he also supports me. My dad's advice is never pressuring, he also is asks questions that really make me look at myself.
